A celebrant led ceremony offers you the chance to have completely unique occasion which reflects your relationship, personalities and beliefs?
A celebrant is a person who performs or officiates ceremonies, and whilst commonly seen at weddings they can also conduct other ceremonies like vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies or funerals. A celebrant leads completely unique and personal services, with no set script or wordings, so it can be tailored to your exact wishes and can include your own unique ideas or traditions.

FAQs
What is a celebrant?
A celebrant is an independent individual who is trained in providing you with a personalised, custom made ceremony designed to celebrate any of life’s meaningful occasions, in a way which is personal to you, without legal obligation or government restriction. There are very few limitations as to what can be included in a celebrant wedding ceremony. This differs from a registrar, which is a government official, responsible for keeping legal records. A wedding ceremony performed by a registrar must take place in a venue licensed for marriage, using specified contractual wording to legalise the union. Religious / spiritual content is not allowed in a registrar wedding ceremony.
Is my Celebrant wedding legally binding?
In short, the answer is no. A celebrant cannot legally marry you. You still need to register your intent to marry at your local registry office. Fear not though, this should definitely not stop you from choosing a celebrant ceremony as it’s incredibly easy to get those legalities ticked and still have the personalised ceremony, free of any limitations imposed during registrar led ceremonies.
How do I register my marriage to make it legally binding?
The easiest and cheapest way for you to do the legal marriage part is in a statutory marriage registration, sometimes known as a ‘2+2’, which is just you two, plus two witnesses. This will always take part at the main register office in your area and is a very short, very simple process. You will need to declare that you don’t know of any legal reason you shouldn’t be married to one another, that you take your partner to be your legally wedded husband or wife, and you sign the marriage register.
These sorts of simple registration ceremonies are often in short supply and are usually only offered on certain days of the week at a certain time. They normally cost around £60, but that might vary according to where you are in England or Wales.

Do you offer same sex marriages?
Heck yeah I do, love is love.
Where shall I hold my Celebrant wedding?
You can hold your ceremony anywhere that you have permission from the owners to do so, you are are not restricted by only choosing licenced venues. You can hold your ceremony indoors or outdoors, or wherever you choose to.
How long does a Celebrant ceremony last?
As a general rule of thumb, ceremonies usually last around 40-60 minutes depending on the type of service and what you want to have included.
Do we have to write our own vows?
Many people choose to write their own vows, this is a great way to convey something meaningful and personal. Some people choose to stick with traditional vows, though you are free to choose to write any vows you wish. Some people even choose to omit the vows completely. With a celebrant-led wedding you are in complete control of what to include, and what not to include in your ceremony. If you need any help with the writing of the vows, I can always assist you in any way that I can.
What areas do you cover?

What should we wear?
Again, some couples choose traditional wedding outfits, whilst others opt for a more unique option. You can literally choose to wear whatever you want to. I tend to dress in smart, formal dress myself, although, if there is anything in particular you would like me to wear (or not wear), then I’m open to most things.
Is a naming ceremony the same as a Christening?
A naming ceremony is the perfect alternative to a traditional Christening for families that wish to mark the occasion in a way that isn’t religious. A naming ceremony focuses on the child and the friends and family that surround them and allows you to celebrate in a way that is personal and meaningful to you.
